01

Start With What You Know

I spent years in kitchens. Not metaphorically — actual kitchens, with actual butter and actual heat. Baking taught me that precision matters but so does instinct. That the recipe is just a starting point. That failure is data. I didn't realize at the time how much that was going to matter later.

02

Add the Unexpected

Somewhere along the way, I ended up in the world of baseball. Analytics, data, decision-making under pressure. It was a different kind of kitchen — different ingredients, same process. Learn the system, understand the variables, figure out what matters and what's noise.

03

Don't Be Afraid of the Heat

When AI started becoming unavoidable, I did what I always do. I jumped in headfirst with no map, just curiosity and a willingness to look completely clueless until things started clicking. I asked the questions I was embarrassed to ask. I read everything I could find. I tried things, broke things, and tried again.

04

Notice What You've Made

The questions I was too intimidated to ask out loud? They turned out to be the same questions everyone around me was silently sitting with. Nobody was talking about them because everyone was waiting for someone else to go first. So I went first. That's how Batter to Bots started.

05

Share It While It's Still Warm

This isn't about being an expert. It's about being someone who's genuinely in it — learning in real time, failing in public, and bringing you along for the whole messy, fascinating process. No jargon. No hype. Just the stuff that actually matters.

Chef's Note

“This isn't about having all the answers. It's about being honest about what I don't know yet — and figuring it out in public. You're not just a reader here. You're part of the process.”

— Elisabeth Costanzo
